Security Bank Albert Lea Celebrates 100 years of Service
2006 will mark the 100th Anniversary of Security Bank Minnesota's bank charter! Security Bank Minnesota
started its original charter as the Manchester State Bank in Manchester, Minnesota in 1906. The Manchester
State Bank was in operation in Manchester since 1946, when the late Art Lund (the late Herb Lund's father)
purchased the charter and relocated the bank to Albert Lea, to its present site on the corner of Bridge Avenue
and changed the name from the Manchester State Bank to Security State Bank. In 1946, Security State Bank
represented one of three banks in the city of Albert Lea. Security State Bank later changed its name to Security
Bank Minnesota in the 1990's.
Security Bank has 2 locations, with the main bank being located in Albert Lea, along with a branch located in
Emmons, Minnesota. The Emmons branch has been a part of the Security Bank family since the late 1960's.
After 100 years, Security Bank Minnesota remains to be a strong locally owned community bank, offering full
